Physical events are losing out against Virtual events – is that so? Webinars, Webcasts, Virtual Shows are cost effective and comfortable to consumers. With social media advancing: Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Second Life, we are meeting more and more people online.
And from the other side: corporations are cutting cost, trying to save out of every extravagant spend they had been doing earlier. Will physical events lose against the virtual?
We asked this question Sean MacNiven, Head of Web Services, SAP, who presented in Amsterdam on January 27&28 2010, at the Enterprise Social 2.0 conference.
A few days ago when I was meeting some of my friends in MOMO – a trendy Amsterdam bar, I have noticed another group wearing name badges. Just for curiosity, I have asked what conference or event is it? Interesting… it was a group who met on the Second Life and since then they are regularly meeting life once a month.
Another example how virtual socializing growing into the face to face meetings.
